Local Verdict
"A tough, low-growing native groundcover perfect for stabilizing slopes and filling gaps between stepping stones."
Overview
California Sheepburr is a hardy, mat-forming perennial with attractive, fern-like grey-green foliage. It is an excellent choice for erosion control on slopes or as a lawn substitute in low-traffic areas.
In spring, it produces insignificant flowers that develop into small, burr-like seed heads (hence the name). It is highly drought-tolerant once established and can handle poor soils.
